Posted on November 24, 2012

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 box of TJ mix

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Coat cast-iron stick molds liberally with oil, butter or shortening
  3. In a bowl, mix together eggs, milk and oil.
  4. Add mix and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Place the oiled cast-iron molds in the oven for about 5 minutes (make certain to have the cornmeal batter ready to pour into the hot molds after 5 minutes).
  6. Carefully remove the hot molds from oven and evenly divide/fill the batter between each mold.
  7. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until the corn sticks test done (it might take more or less time depending on the size of molds).
  8. Using a sharp knife, gently lift out the sticks from the molds.
